About the Project: Get to Know the HealthyW8 Initiative and Meet Our Collaborative Network

The HealthyW8 project, funded under the European Commission call HORIZON-HLTH-2022-STAYHLTH-01-two-stage and the topic “Prevention of obesity throughout the life course”, addresses the critical issue of obesity prevention in Europe. Our primary aim is to empower individuals to adopt healthier lifestyle behaviours during vulnerable life stages. As part of our mission, we are developing a digital-based healthy lifestyle recommender system tailored to individual needs and preferences.

Our consortium consists of 24 public and private partners, dedicated to advancing effective obesity prevention initiatives across the continent through a transdisciplinary approach, ensuring our work aligns with global and European sustainability and health criteria.

By taking a multi-level intervention approach, we aim to prevent obesity by addressing diet, physical activity, and psycho-emotional aspects. We consider obesity as a multifactorial challenge, addressing individual, interpersonal, organizational, community, and public policy levels.

Our innovative approach includes a novel bio-marker assessment method, multi-component eHealth interventions, personal mood integration, and gamification elements supported by the Human Learning and Recommendation System (HLRS) and Human Digital Twin (HDT). This innovation places us at the forefront of obesity prevention initiatives.
